Barack tells Mexico: Raids, deportations don’t work
Barack Obama hit the front page of the Mexican papers again this morning, this time in an exclusive interview (snagged after his speech at the Austin Convention Center) with the Mexico City daily Reforma, in which he made comments sure to please Mexicans. In some of his strongest language so far on the immigration issue, Obama told Reforma that raids and deportations aren’t the answer.
“The raids haven’t worked,” Obama said. “It’s clear the contribution these Mexican workers make for our economy and one of my priorities on this issue is to keep the families of immigrants united and not separate them with deportations.”
Mexico by and large couldn’t be happier with the three remaining presidential candidates, widely perceived here to be the most immigrant-friendly of the original slate of candidates.

Well…I guess I WILL NOT vote for Obama after all. He is too friendly toward illegal immigrants.

Illegal sympathizers will not get my vote. I respect LEGAL immigrants and the LAW.

It sounds like we are going to end up having another amnesty just like in 1986 and the borders will still not be enforced. The printed and electronic media will not speak up or say anything to change that, and both parties are ignoring the problem to get the ethnic vote.

These democrats are all the same, and the agenda for all of them is to give the country away. Obama will give jobs to Illegals, how does that sound to poor Blacks. As a Black, I do not trust any of these.
I would be thrilled to see a Black President, but I would be more thrilled to see a GOOD Black President, Obama is not the man for this country.

All 3 of the presidential candidates will sell out the US to be elected, The low life vermin that sneak in to our country do nothing for our economy but steal our tax dollars. The illegal hispanic horde has brought on the moral and ethical decay of our society, They should all be found and deported instantly , no questions asked, get them out NOW

deportation and raids don’t work? try saying that to the legal citizens who reside in the neighborhoods where these raids took place. barak is going to sell us out, just like kennedy and mccain tried to do. if he had just an inkling of what the PEOPLE really want he would never have said such rhetoric.

We (legal citizens) are all screwed! There is no one to vote for in November - no one who believes in the rule of law …
Oh wait - those who are making big bucks off of cheap labor are not screwed and those politicians who are taking bribes to keep the cheap illegal labor flowing …
In my dream of a just world - ALL THOSE EMPLOYERS WHO HIRE ILLEGALS GO TO JAIL AND ARE HOUSED IN THE SAME CELL AS THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

Raids don’t work. Those that are deported, just come back. Or, others come into the country and take their place. Laws are broken when they are unreasonable. There is no legal way for common worker immigrants to come here from Latin America. Visa quotas…
I personally do not understand the anger toward undocument immigrants. If I were living in mexico, my family was starving, and the ONLY way that I had available to feed my family was to cross the border “illegally”- I would do so, as would any good parent.
If illegal immigration were ended, this country would go into economic disaster. Aside from the immigrants being responsible for the majority of many fruit crops, they also support the building industry. Aside from THAT, many work on fake social security numbers that contribute to the social security system- but don’t take out of the social security system. Our government DEPENDS on that money to pay out social security. Immigrants pay sales tax, pay property tax (some own, some pay indirectly through rent), many pay income tax either through fake social security numbers or numbers issued by the government for undocumented residents, their children are in our schools- taking the TAKS, learning English, their parents are in the school’s PTA, they go to community events, talk about politics, obey the laws of the land (more so than citizens)… how are they not ‘real’ Americans? why the anger??

Krissy: The reason Americans are angry is because we are tired of our laws not being enforced, our tax dollars and resources drained that are meant for citizens, and criminals coming into our country victimizing our citizens. Only 2% of illegal aliens work in agriculture. Illegal immigrants drive down wages of American workers. Our hospitals and schools are overwhelmed. Jailing illegals is costing billions, we have had enough. We demand that our laws be enforced. Americans refuse to accept any form of amnesty for illegal aliens. It is Mexico’s failure to provide for their own people that is the problem. Mexico is ranked as the 15th wealthiest nation on Earth. Mexico has a two class society, wealthy and the poor. The wealthy don’t want to be taxed at a level that would help provide for the poor. Mexico receives billions annually in remittances from illegal aliens in the US. Mexico is profitting from exporting their poor to the US. The government is corrupt and it’s businesses are monopolies that don’t support decent wages or a middle class. It’s time to point out the real problem and that’s the inept and corrupt Mexican government. I urge all immigrants to respect our borders and come to the US legally, you’ll be respected and welcomed. If that’s not an option then try staying in Mexico and work to change that government. Americans will not sacrifice our nation and our people to support the poor of Mexico any longer.
