Poll: Most Latinos do not want local police to enforce immigration

Nearly one in ten Hispanic adults say that the police or other authorities have stopped them and asked them about their immigration status, according to a nationwide survey released Thursday by the Pew Hispanic Center.

The survey also found that 81 percent of Hispanic adults said that immigration enforcement should be left mainly to the federal authorities and not local police. In addition, 76 percent said they disapprove of workplace raids.

Who care what they think? I want them gone unless they are here legally. We don’t want them driving without a license, drunk and then killing people and leaving the scene of the accident. We don’t want them breeding children they cannot feed. We don’t want them destroying our neighborhoods by overcrowding houses in once beautiful suburban neighborhoods that quickly become slums. We don’t want them downloading gang bangers, bringing drug runners, human smugglers and dropping our wages like a rock. We don’t want them refusing to speak English, carrying TB and all kinds of diseases, and demanding free healthcare while they spend their money on tricked out trucks. We don’t want them betraying our country by sending money out of the country instead of paying for the goods, services, healthcare and schooling. They are sucking us dry and destroying our economy. No wonder their home country doesn’t want them.

And we don’t want legal immigrants sticking up for these criminals. They are truely traitors.

Of course many ‘Hispanics’ are against enforcement. Blood is thicker than water. Many have family who are here illegally or are waiting back home for sponsorship to come legally. Unfortunately, their bellies are full, but their hearts are in Mexico…

It’s urgent that our USA has secure borders or we will become a disUnited States of America, fragmented into thousands of little ethnic & cultural enclaves. We’ll be Balkanized into a 3rd world status by invading Illegal Aliens & all slobbering at the UN’s public trough for their daily bread ration.

Quote: [‘The Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA), and the National Immigration Forum (NIF) whose names imply  grassroots organizations reflecting the will of American Hispanics, do not represent mainstream American Hispanic opinion.   Rather, they speak only in their own best interests, favoring the mass immigration that gives them more constituents they can then profess to represent.   Polls show that Hispanic-Americans, like all Americans, support stronger enforcement of our immigration laws.

A ‘Hispanic Homeland’ could be written off as the work of extremists were it not for wide-spread support by Mexicans.  A June 2002 Zogby poll of Mexicans found that a substantial majority of Mexican citizens believe that southwestern America is rightfully the territory of Mexico and that Mexicans do not need the permission of the U.S. to enter.  The poll found that 58 percent of Mexicans agree with the statement, “The territory of the United States’ southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico.” Zogby said 28 percent disagreed, while another 14 percent said they weren’t sure.

Many media and political elites still naively think immigration is unconditionally good and they do nothing to reverse the negative aspects of immigration.  Those Americans need to wake up quickly!’]

I agree. Who cares what they think. The LEGAL hispanics think the same way we do. They are tired of the problems illegals bring to our country and the problems it causes them. This is OUR country, not the illegals.

That’s like asking an opinion from a bunch of convicted criminals what they think about laws. Who cares what they think. They can go back to Mexico with their relatives if they are so worried about them.

Oh say it isn’t true. The undocumented don’t want law enforcement across the board? Just what kind of startling inferences might be drawn from that? You mean the hens don’t want the fox guarding the henhouse?

If someone’s gonna do a “nationwide survey,” why not conduct one that may produce some useful results?

As usual the report says hispanics. What hispanics? Are we talking about American citizens or aliens?? If they are aliens wouldn’t they be against any kind of enforcement, just as any lawbreaker would? During the next report tell us whether they are talking with illegals or American citizens…it would add a lot of context.

There should be no say for illegal aliens. They are in our country as invaders, they do not want to learn english, they want us to llearn spanish. WHY SHOULD I PRESS ONE FOR ENGLISH. This is our country they are doing to us what we did to the Indians not with guns but with bleeding hearts, they should have no rights. Arrest them all local authorities regular citizens, let’s take back America. Does nobody remember the Alamo.

Quote steve: [“This is our country they are doing to us what we did to the Indians”] Should we join those who suggest that “it’s time to play ‘Cowboys & Illegal Aliens’?” Perhaps they’re correct, if our political leaders(?) are willing to sell out us & our USA then it’s up to US.

English is required for US Citizenship, if you can not speak it, you should be presumed to be a non US citizen. If you are here without a permit, get ready to be arrested and deported. Stop stealing citizenship, it is a crime.

I agree with “By Lucky”. I am a hispanic american, born and raised in the US. I am against all illegal aliens. Everytime a crime is committed, notice the name, it’s usually a hispanic from Mexico or other Latin Country. And you see that it is an alias name. They change names everytime it’s convenient to them. The police never know who they are arresting, then they go back to Mexico and return later. Look at out Health Services and Government Services. They have already learned to get everything for free by lying. I see them in their brand new trucks/houses and kids are getting free lunch. They say that their husbands have been deported, but you go to the stores/flea markets and there you see them with their husbands and the kids are calling them “papa”. And the fathers are working construction and making good money! This is what bothers me about them. People from here in American can’t qualify because computers have all their life’s history and SSN, and yet these people can’t be looked up in any computer and so you take their word and they are lying. I wish the city and government would investigate all these poeple and they would save a bundle. I understand spanish and I hear them telling other people what they have to say to get all the services for free and I hate it, because it’s my money paying for them while they have money to go on vacations, ride new trucks, getting free medical services and getting baskets of food on food stamps. I need to go take my High Blood Pressure Medicine now that I had to pay for, because it’s not free.
