Police group: leave immigration enforcement to feds
Local and state authorities should leave immigration policing up to federal agencies, according to preliminary findings of a study conducted by the Police Foundation, a nonprofit group.
Through a series of focus groups that brought together academics, sheriffs, police chiefs and human-rights advocates, the foundation found the majority prefer having federal authorities enforce immigration policies instead of extending the responsibility to the nation’s local police and sheriff’s departments.
The findings, which will be included in a full report in the coming months, were presented at a two-day conference in Washington that ended Friday.

I’m puzzled that there weren’t any plain American citizens on that panel. It seems only special interest groups were invited.

First of all I would be wary of a group calling themselves the Police Foundation…and aren’t actually police.
As far as this conference, like minded people were probably invited and came up with a viewpoint the group knew they would. Happens all the time.

Because the Feds have failed our nation, and that is what this group want to continue. Traitors, one and all.

Pretty sure that the 150 or more police chiefs and sheriffs who attended this conference are all US citizens, but admit we didn’t ask for their papers.

Mary, I’m puzzled that you overlooked the word “plain” and only focused on citizen. Plain, as in everyday kind of people, not law enforcement or lawyers, politicians, or special interest groups. Just everyday taxpaying citizens of the US. They might have a different perspective, like enforce the laws we have without whining.
