Junior president

Apparently word has not reached Russia that the president of the United States is not a junior.

The official website for this weekend’s G8 meeting in St. Petersburg incorrectly identifies the U.S. leader as George W. Bush Jr. Though he shares his dad’s first name, Bush is not a junior as listed at http://en.g8russia.ru/g8/chapterofstates/bush/.

One more time: The 41st president of the United States was George Herbert Walker Bush. The 43rd president of the United States is George Walker Bush.

In another slight departure from accuracy, the G8 website says Bush was “a co-owner and manager of the Texas Rangers baseball team.” Nitpicking here, but he never was manager. He served as managing general partner and sat in the stands. He did not don a uniform and sit in the dugout.
