Homer’s a whopper of an attraction for bk.com
By Bob Keefe | Friday, August 17, 2007, 03:13 PM
The fastest-growing Web site in the country last month: bk.com.
According to the latest report just out from Web tracker Comscore Media Metrix, traffic at Miami-based Burger King’s sites increased by 774 percent from June to a whopping 4.2 million vistors last month.
The big gains had nothing to do with burgers or even the chain’s cartoonish King character, but all to do with another another big-headed cultural icon: Homer Simpson.
According to comScore, the spike in traffic at Burger King sites was tied to a promotion with the recently released “The Simpsons Movie.”
The list of top visited U.S. sites didn’t change much in July, with Yahoo, Google, Time Warner (AOL), Microsoft and Fox Interactive sites, in that order, making up the top five.
Thanks to visitors like you, Cox Enterprises sites like this one ranked No. 43 in July, according to comScore.
