Only days after saying it would buy ASAP Software, Round Rock, Texas-based Dell Inc. continued its shopping spree Monday by announcing it plans to acquire Zing Systems Inc.
Privately held Zing creates software that lets digital media players stream, download and share content over wireless networks. In the 14 months since its official launch, the Mountain View, Calif. company has licensed its technology to SanDisk and SIRIUS Satellite Radio for Wi-Fi-enabled gadgets.
The details of the deal were not revealed, but Dell said it plans to use Zing to “continue improving the entertainment experiences it provides its customers.”
